These Easy Paleo Biscuits are so delicious, healthy, gluten free, dairy free, and low carb.
Perfect with dinner or with a little jam for dessert.Oh, these biscuits are so good!! I wanted to make something that would be perfect along side a hearty soup or meal. That's what fall and winter are all about, comfort foods, and that's exactly what these biscuits are! They are so easy to make and are in the oven in just minutes. There is no excuse to not make these for dinner tonight.
Don't let the look of them fool you- they are moist, soft, and light. They are a little delicate, but that won't matter once you take a bite and see how delicious they are. The inside it exactly like a regular biscuit and so perfect. You will love it!
I made a couple batches of these- one with coconut oil and one with Fatworks Pastured Pure Lard. Both worked great, but the ones with lard were more moist and didn't need any ghee after they were baked. Most likely, your grandma used lard in her biscuits and she knew what she was doing. I highly recommend getting your hands on that stuff and using it- you can thank me later. 🙂
I'm thinking these would be perfect for Thanksgiving! Yeah, I know they would. Maybe with some Mashed Cauliflower, Roasted Delicata Squash (what I'm bringing to our meal) and of course the Turkey. Serve some Paleo Pumpkin Coffee Cake for dessert and you have one delicious meal!
The recipe only makes 4 biscuits- perfect for a small family. So if you're feeding more or if you want leftovers, just double the recipe. I have made a double batch multiple times and I can fit all 8 on one tray at the same time. No changes need to be made with the baking time.
These are the biscuits to make next time you find yourself craving a little bread to go with dinner or breakfast. You will love how easy they are while still being healthy. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy time with your family!

Loved these! Next time I may make “scones” out of them by adding a bit of honey and some lemon zest/juice. May prevent me from sneaking some of the dessert tempting me!
Constanza says
Hi!!!!! It seems really great! Iam gonna try this soon! A portion is about one biscuit? Thanks!!!
Jessica DeMay says
Thanks, Constanza! Really, it's however much you want. I would probably just eat one, but my husband would have 2. So it's up to you! Enjoy!

Today my mom woke up and asked me to get her some biscuits and I'm only 12 so I couldn't go buy some so I searched and found your receipt and she loves them
Thank You,
Gregory
Gregory says
She loves them thank you soo much!
Jessica DeMay says
Awesome! Thank you so much, Gregory! I'm so glad she likes them! Thanks for trying my recipe and for the great feedback!
Angela says
Can I make these without egg? My son has an egg allergy...
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Angela- you can try with flax eggs, but I'm not totally sure how they would come out since I haven't tried it. I'm sorry I can't be more of a help for that one.
diane says
Could you use almond milk in this recipe?
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Diane- yes, that would work great!
HollyMichelle says
Are these Whole30 compliant too?
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Holly- no, because no baked good is allowed on Whole30, even if the ingredients are compliant.
Cara says
We had this and thought they were really good! Mine turned out sort of crumbly though, am I supposed to melt the coconut oil first??
Jessica DeMay says
Thanks for trying them, Cara! I'm sorry they turned out crumbly. The coconut isn't melted, but you may need a little more. coconut flour can be different depending on the brand so maybe just add a little more liquid or coconut oil next time. That should help 🙂
Ashley says
Can you use full fat canned coconut milk? If so, how much would I use? I assume it's a different measurement from the cashew milk bc it's a thinner consistency...?
Thanks for your help 🙂
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Ashley- yes, that would definitely work. Yeah, I think it would be a little more- maybe 1/3-1/2 cup. I would start with 1/3 and see how that looks. You don't want the mixture too wet either. I hope you enjoy these!
Sync says
Maybe using the good lard would add more flavor than coconut oil.
Sync says
The appearance and texture are a winner! They turned out very nice and were so easy to make. A fabulous recipe. I find myself craving more flavor. I may use more salt next time. I slathered them in raw honey to make up for it and was happy with the results.
Jessica DeMay says
Yes, using good lard gives them great flavor. These are a pretty simple biscuit, so feel free to add seasonings- maybe garlic, onion powder, or cracked pepper. Thanks for trying them and for the good feedback 🙂
