Paleo Vegan Tootsie Rolls

  • Place the dates and SunButter in a food processor and blend until smooth. Stop and scrap down the sides as needed. Add in the vanilla, salt and cacao powder and belnd again until combined. Mixture will be crumbly, like wet sand, but should hold together when squeezed. If you feel like you mixture is too oily you can add the coconut flour and blend again.
  • Scoop into 1 teaspon balls and roll into logs. Like the shape of a classic tootsie roll. Makes 30. You can stop at this step and store them in a covered container.
  • If you want them individually rolled. Cut wax paper into 3x3 inch squares and roll up easch tootsie roll, twisting the ends.
  • Best stored in the freezer for chewiness, but can be stored at room temp or in the fridge as well.

Notes

*If the dates are old and harder, place in hot water for 5 minutes, drain and then proceed with the recipe
