This Paleo Tzatziki Sauce is so simple to make and is loaded with flavor. It is dairy free, gluten free, and Whole30 compliant.
I could have just added this sauce to they Paleo Gyro recipe, but I felt like it needed it's own separate page. Mainly because I don't want it to just get looked over, but also because I have made it just to dip veggies in and it is so good! So even if you don't plan on making the gyros you should try this sauce.
I use coconut cream which thickens up in the fridge. If you put it on warm meat it will become much thinner- just a warning.
This paleo Tzatziki sauce is so easy to make and has become one of our favorite sauce and dips.

I used Trader Joe’s coconut cream and this ended up SO watery! Is that not a good choice?
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Claire- have you refrigerated it yet? It should thicken up in the fridge.

FABULOUS
I bought a Thai kitchen Coconut Cream can (not milk) but it still had liquid in it, I did not use, but wondering if I should have...
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Robin- you could have stirred it together and used it (it wouldn't be as thick), but using the top part works. Thanks for trying it.

Any idea how long the Tzatziki sauce will keep in the fridge after it's made? A full can of coconut cream will make a lot of sauce (not that I won't want to eat the WHOLE batch at once)!
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Raegan- it will last 7-10 days in the fridge. I hope you try it 🙂
Billy says
I really only ever eat dill with dill pickles but I realized that I need to make tzatziki again! Its so good. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
Jessica DeMay says
You're welcome, Billy! Good for both pickles and tzatziki 🙂

This is fantastic! I'm not a big coconut fan so I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but it's amazing!!! Can't wait for the flavors to meld a bit more overnight. Paleo chicken gyros for lunch and dinner tomorrow! Thank you!
Jessica DeMay says
You're welcome, Mary! Thank you for trying it and for the great feedback!
Alissa says
So...I'm about to make this recipe and realize that I got coconut milk not coconut cream. Can I make it with milk or is it completely not going to work?
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Alissa- it will work, but it wont be as thick. You can place the coconut milk in the fridge overnight then you'll want to open the can and use the thick part that is on top. I hope that makes sense and I hope it turns out for you!!

I agree that picture looks delicious. I have put mine together and it's now in the fridge. BUT it looks nothing like the picture. There is nothing white and creamy about mine. I followed the recipe exactly. It looks like a bowl of snot with cucumber and dill. Has anyone else made this recipe?? I had such high hopes. I want this to go well. Help!
Jessica DeMay says
I'm so sorry, Bridget! I'm not sure why it's not white if you used coconut cream- the cucumber could give it a little green tint but it should still be pretty white. If it's clumpy then I always find a whisk helps break up any lumps. I hope it still tastes good! Try re-stiring it after it's set up in the fridge. I hope that helps- let me know if you have other questions or if I can help any more.

Did you try squeezing the water out of the cucumbers?
