These Easy Paleo Biscuits are so delicious, healthy, gluten free, dairy free, and low carb.
Perfect with dinner or with a little jam for dessert.Oh, these biscuits are so good!! I wanted to make something that would be perfect along side a hearty soup or meal. That's what fall and winter are all about, comfort foods, and that's exactly what these biscuits are! They are so easy to make and are in the oven in just minutes. There is no excuse to not make these for dinner tonight.
Don't let the look of them fool you- they are moist, soft, and light. They are a little delicate, but that won't matter once you take a bite and see how delicious they are. The inside it exactly like a regular biscuit and so perfect. You will love it!
I made a couple batches of these- one with coconut oil and one with Fatworks Pastured Pure Lard. Both worked great, but the ones with lard were more moist and didn't need any ghee after they were baked. Most likely, your grandma used lard in her biscuits and she knew what she was doing. I highly recommend getting your hands on that stuff and using it- you can thank me later. 🙂
I'm thinking these would be perfect for Thanksgiving! Yeah, I know they would. Maybe with some Mashed Cauliflower, Roasted Delicata Squash (what I'm bringing to our meal) and of course the Turkey. Serve some Paleo Pumpkin Coffee Cake for dessert and you have one delicious meal!
The recipe only makes 4 biscuits- perfect for a small family. So if you're feeding more or if you want leftovers, just double the recipe. I have made a double batch multiple times and I can fit all 8 on one tray at the same time. No changes need to be made with the baking time.
These are the biscuits to make next time you find yourself craving a little bread to go with dinner or breakfast. You will love how easy they are while still being healthy. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy time with your family!

Isn't lard just pure, grose, high calorie, low nutrition, no omega 3, FAT? Isn't the coconut oil much healthier to use?!! Just wunnering! lol
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Deborah- no, actually lard is not bad at all! I do recommend using a high quality lard like from Fat Works. Here is an article explaining more on lard:http://empoweredsustenance.com/lard-is-healthy/
I hope that helps and I hope you try these biscuits 🙂
Katie says
Hi. 🙂
Are these freeze-able?
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Katie- I havent tried it personally, but I think that would work great. I've froze other baked goods and it works fine. I hope you try them 🙂
Dani says
Have these in the oven for the first time right now. Hoping they turn out great and my daughter will like them. We just started GF and DF so here goes nothing.
Jessica DeMay says
Awesome! I hope you and your daughter enjoy them! Thanks for trying them 🙂
CJ says
I made them today and they came out way too salty. Maybe since I doubled it I shouldn't double the salt. I'll have to try it again. Thanks.
Jessica DeMay says
I'm sorry CJ! Yes, maybe don't double the salt next time. I'm glad you're trying them again 🙂
Madi says
Just made these...so easy and so delicious!
Quick question, do you store leftovers in the fridge or pantry? Thanks!
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Madi- I would suggest storing them in the fridge. Paleo baked goods tend to go bad quick. One day left out would be fine, but after that refrigerate. Thanks for trying them!!
Lauren B. says
Did you use canned coconut milk?
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Lauren- I used cashew milk, but canned coconut milk would work great as well. I hope you try them and love them!
April says
Can you use whole milk?
Jessica DeMay says
Hi April- yes, that should work. That would obviously no longer make them paleo though. I hope you try them and love them!
Taylor @ Food Faith Fitness says
THESE ARE EVERYTHING! Since the hubs went GF, he has been missing biscuits like craycray, but I have no idea how to even make a non GF biscuit, 'cause I'm canadian and we don't eat 'em. I LOVE you for these girl!
Jessica DeMay says
Thanks, Taylor!! Your husband will love these and you will love how easy they are! Enjoy 🙂

Mary Ann | The BEach House Kitchen says
I love how this recipe only makes 4 biscuits because when the boys are away and it's only Tom and I that's all I need. My grandmother did use lard in hers! I need to give this recipe a try Jessica! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family!
Jessica DeMay says
Thanks, Mary Ann! Yes, we don't need a dozen biscuits laying around 😉 Thanks so much!!
