This Paleo Chicken Salad is easy, packed with fresh flavor, and so delicious! A great healthy no-cook meal for summer!
I'm excited to share this delightful recipe that combines tender chunks of chicken with crisp apples and juicy grapes for a burst of flavor in every bite.
Ingredients for chicken salad
My paleo mayo is the base that adds creaminess and holds it all together. Store bought, like Primal Kitchens Mayo or Sir Kensingtons Mayo will also work great.
Cooked chicken- start with cooked chicken breast, ensuring each mouthful is packed with protein and satisfying texture. Leftover baked chicken or a store bought chicken both work great.
Grapes and apples- there is a generous helping of diced apples, providing a sweet and crunchy contrast that complements the savory chicken perfect. Toss in halved grapes, their juicy bursts of sweetness adding a refreshing element to the salad.
Green onions are used because they are mild, but if you love onion then feel free to replace them with some diced red or sweet onion.
Serving chicken salad
This can be served over lettuce or a paleo tortilla to keep it fully paleo. If you can have gluten free grains then serve it on some gluten free bread.
You will love this chicken salad because it is easy, tasty, and the perfect balance of flavors. It is not only delicious but also nutritious, with the natural sweetness of apples and grapes adding a delightful twist to this classic dish.

Hi! My wife makes this recipe, and it’s absolutely delicious. I always forget to have her calculate the nutritional information when she makes it. Do you know if this information is available somewhere already?
Jessica DeMay says
Thanks, Adam! I'm so glad you like it. I don't calculate nutritional info for my recipes, but you can use a site like My Fitness Pal to figure that out if you want. That way it's precise to your serving size.
Tonya says
Can you use apple cider vinegar in place of the coconut vinegar?
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Tonya- for the mayo? Yes!

My husband and I have just started the Whole30 eating plan (I refuse to say diet!), so I am still trying to figure out easy swaps. Can I substitute avacado mayo for your mayo? Looking forward to trying this recipe.
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Julie- yes, avocado mayo will definitely work! Just check ingredients for no added sugar. I hope you love it! And feel free to ask any questions you may have along the way 🙂
Kaitlyn says
do you know the nutrition facts for it? My husband and I are doing whole 30 together and I just want to make sure we are getting the right amount of calories in 🙂 This recipe sounds amazing and I can't wait to try it!
Melissa says
Very tasty, was able to portion it out into 10 servings at about 270 cal per, using Whole Foods plain rotisserie chicken and Sir Kensington regular organic mayo. Looking forward to lunches this week!
Jessica DeMay says
Awesome! Thanks for trying it, Melissa and I hope you enjoy lunch all week 🙂
Kaitlyn says
Just saw Melissa post! That works for me!
Jessica DeMay says
Perfect! Enjoy, Kaitlyn 🙂

This was SO. GOOD. I'm actually having to stop myself from going in to the kitchen for another bowl, because I made a half batch and don't want it to be gone before I can even try it as a cold leftover! Thank you so much for this recipe, I've been needing to mix up my post-whole-30 / paleo-ish routine
Jessica DeMay says
Thank you so much for trying my recipe and for the great feedback, Hannah! 🙂 Sounds like you'll need to make a full batch next time!
Rachel says
We make this chicken salad just about every week! It is so delicious, the combination of the green apples, green onions and grapes is so unique. It's crunchy, sweet, and savory. Because there is so much flavor in the prepared salad, I usually just boil my chicken breasts naked, no seasoning. It always turns out amazing!
Jessica DeMay says
Thanks for the great feedback, Rachel! I'm so glad you love this recipe! 🙂
Rachel says
Still making it, and seriously still loving it. I will never eat another chicken salad without comparing it to this recipe. It is a winner!!!!
Abby says
How many does this recipe serve? (sorry if I'm missing it somewhere)
Jessica DeMay says
Hi Abby- sorry, I forget to include that sometimes. It serves about 6. I hope you enjoy!
Abby says
its ok! How long does this last in the fridge? Could I make it for lunch all week? 🙂 looks delicious
Jessica DeMay says
Oh yeah- that's what I do! It should last 6-7 days in the fridge.
Melissa says
Love this chicken salad recipe! Fresh and sweet.
Jessica DeMay says
Thanks, Melissa!

I just love the combo of the chicken and the grapes and apples Jessica! Sounds wonderful. I've had chicken salad with grapes but not with apples, so I'll need to try.
Jessica DeMay says
Thanks, Mary Ann! I think you'll love the addition of apple!
